|Talk by Niall Duffy, IPSO's Director of External Affairs|
On Monday 21st November, DPAAL members met Niall Duffy, IPSO’s Director of External Affairs, at the Mexican Ambassador’s Residence.
Niall Duffy talked about the work of the Independent Press Standards Organisation, how it came into being, what it does and the difference between a self-regulator and a statutory body. His talk was followed by a Q&As session
The Independent Press Standards Organisation regulates the overwhelming majority of the UK’s newspaper and magazines, accounting for some 2,500 printed or online publications. It was set up by the industry in the wake of the phone-hacking scandal and the Leveson Inquiry as a successor to the Press Complaints Commission and has been in operation since September 2014.
